Note to reader: the information about the chiropractic technique described in these articles is called Upper Cervical Specific and was developed by BJ Palmer. It is implemented through Stress Analysis, which was developed by Guillermo D. Vazquez, D.C. Articles are written with permission of Dr. Vazquez. Opinions outside of the subject matter are my own.
In the world dominated by western “healthcare” (if you can even call it that), in order to be accepted by those who view certain doctors as the “authority” on health, we must show the proof of what we claim through research and testing.
Dr. Scott Rosa, out of Rock Hill, NY, is an Atlas Orthogonal (technique specific) upper cervical chiropractor whose newly-renowned research is making waves into mainstream by appearing on ‘ESPN 30 for 30’, effectively treating high profile former football players for post-concussion (CTE) issues, and has done EXCELLENT work for the chiropractic industry, as well as for healthcare in general.
He uses “motion MRI” to show live proof of CSF flow aberrations and have proven thus far that UC misalignment results in low lying and/or protruding cerebellar tonsils (cerebellar tonsillar ectopia), changes in the angles of sub-cranial bones and upper cervical joints, and mechanical compression of the jugular vein(s).
This is then further shown through motion MRI imaging and blood work to directly contribute to the etiological processes we see clinically in both the CNS and the rest of the body by altering the rate and direction of flow of the CSF, by placing direct and dramatic compression and distortion (also with Pascal’s Law) on the central nervous system and the major vasculature (jugular) at the area of the pituitary gland, pineal gland, brainstem, cerebellum, and spinal cord.
He specifically attributes direct association of the compression on the jugular vein with all neurodegenerative dis-eases identified on imaging. Objective improvements are identified on post-treatment blood tests and visualized on MRI within hours of the treatment, and major healing in just a matter of weeks-months. CSF flow returns to normal, cerebellar tonsils recede back into their normal spaces, joint and sub-cranial bone angles return to normal anatomical position.
And this is just what we’ve been able to identify thus far and is not considered an all inclusive list. EVERY SINGLE NERVE IN THE ENTIRE BODY, billions of nerves and processes, exist in this space within the CNS and continued research and work will visually prove it further.
You can watch his interview in full here:
But if you want to skip to the good parts go to 19:00.
Clinically, using this system, not only do we see healing of neurological conditions, neuroendocrine hormone imbalances, and neurodegenerative dis-eases, but SYSTEM WIDE healing.
Upper cervical isn’t something new. It’s been around since at least the early 1900’s with various forms of analysis and adjusting to try and treat this area. It was actually the founder of chiropractic’s son, B.J. Palmer, and Alex August Wernsing, a German scientist, in different locations, but at the same time, making the big discovery that when you addressed the upper cervical spine you could achieve vast improvement of conditions in 90+% of the population, which was supremely better than when just addressing spot treatment or full spine (30-50%). This was eventually published in what are known as the “Green Books” in 1934. Where they differed was on which upper cervical bone was of the greatest importance in addressing, C1 or C2. B.J. Palmer thought C2 was more significant, and Alex August Wernsing thought C1 was. During these discoveries the analysis side of upper cervical misalignment was in its baby phases using static palpation, to motion palpation, to x-ray, and neurocalometer (scanner).
As the chiropractic industry remained in flux over how to analyze misalignment and address health through spinal manipulation, the techniques began to branch off forming their own niches where they each thought they had discovered a pattern worth devoting more attention to. The nuances of the body are indefinite thus many rabbit holes were traveled on. Even in the upper cervical realm, those that favored C1 went one direction and those that favored C2 went another to form the different upper cervical techniques you see today. Atlas Orthogonal, Advanced Atlas Orthogonal, NUCCA, Orthospinology, Blair, Knee Chest, Toggle Recoil, and Grostic.
To this day, every single upper cervical technique uses static imaging of some kind to diagnose misalignment (along with other corroborating tests). Using different patterns of analysis, different thoughts on biomechanics, different angles of the joints, and thus different assumptions on symmetry vs asymmetry of the joints affecting vectors and forces used, they all knew they were missing something so they sought new ways to improve and to find the ever-elusive 100% effectiveness. Each technique at some point thought they had finally discovered the correct way to analyze and diagnose misalignment, and then developed their method of correction, whether hand or instrument based to correct it.
However, we’ve already discussed in the previous article (The Human Body: Part 3) that you can not 100% precisely and fully diagnose misalignment off of imaging.
Wolff’s Law allows for the growth of bone callouses and new bone on top of bone in the direction of, and in direct proportion to, the forces applied to it. We already know that upper cervical misalignment causes “compensatory scoliosis” thus the joints experience the force of gravity asymmetrically. This should, and does, show as increased bone density and growth on image.
>How do you know with 100% certainty that you’re not confusing misalignment with additional bone growth?
Since the body responds and builds tissue in accordance to the forces placed on it, and the upper cervical joints of children do not form full adult joint shapes until approximately age 9-10, then that child’s joint angles will be specific 1) to its genetics and 2) to its specific daily ergonomics and trauma; the forces and movement applied during his lifetime. Does any one individual have the exact same course of life? Ever? No.
>This means asymmetry is the normal, and symmetry would be considered abnormal. Under postmortem autopsy, dolphins often have been found to have symmetrical C1 facet joints because they experience forces under water, and according to Pascal’s Law the forces will be applied in all directions equally. Meaning the forces on each side would always be symmetrical, unless they made head-to-head contact underwater as a young dolphin which would potentially result in asymmetrical joint development if UC misalignment occurred.
Whether it’s an x-ray or cone-beam CT imaging, it’s always a static image. Joints move. Just like hinges of a door can be rusty, you wouldn’t take a picture of it in order to determine exactly how the door wouldn’t open. Joints can be “fixed” in position and not move in motion but otherwise appear “healthy” and in alignment.
These things definitively rule out 100% accurate diagnosis of misalignment based off imaging.
C1 vs C2: Which is more important?
>BOTH. But not like you think.
The biggest discrepancy in the current upper cervical realm is over which bone to address and how, and with which method of analysis. The fact of the matter is, that C1 attaches to C2 via the transverse and apical ligaments, inside the hole of C1 to the dens (tooth-like projection) of C2. The bony articulation between the bodies of C1 and C2 do not have a bony joint edge, movement restriction, or locking position which allows smooth and full movement. This means you can NOT misalign here.
Where you misalign is between:
C1 under the skull (occiput)
C2 on C3
C1 and C2 are a UNIT. The base is the articulation to C3 and the ceiling is the articulation to the occiput.
This has been impossible to fully determine until the stress/motion testing was developed. Almost 90 years later, out of sheer necessity and will due to lack of access to proper imaging and funds, a chiropractic student, who was already educated in upper cervical and wanted to help people and himself as an upper cervical patient, developed the stress based motion system of analysis in school. His name is Dr. Guillermo Vazquez. He’s now a graduated and practicing doctor and also my personal upper cervical chiropractor. It was his discovery of this analysis and his work that saved my life when all others failed well over a year ago.
I came out of alignment twice, each time because I let another chiropractor adjust me, meaning he adjusted me only three times and I’ve held my alignment ever since. I had gone through the gambit of chiropractors and other traditional doctors— NONE like Dr. G. The moment his adjustment was over I asked him if he even did anything because I didn’t feel anything. But then I did!!!! I just knew it was different. I felt it immediately, a feeling that can not be described, like it just unlocks parts of you that you’ve either never felt before or haven’t in a long time. Nothing else like it. Like a cold-water sensation of fluid that traveled from my sacrum all the way up both sides of my spine all the way into behind my eyes. Goosebumps and chills emanated from my spine and covered my entire body. Immediately my neurological symptoms either went 90% away or completely disappeared. AMAZING! I’ll write the full story soon and publish here.
It is not uncommon for people, if they assume no additional trauma during the initial healing and stability process (3 months), to only need this corrected the first time, and maybe a 2-3 more depending on each individual’s circumstances and states of condition. The people with severe ligament damage and severe instability, or have flat joint angles—creating less anatomical locking stability—, or have “layered misalignments” where a first trauma created one misalignment, and a follow-up trauma created a different misalignment on top of the original, may need this adjustment 3-7 times depending on the amount of layers, and the degree of damage and instability. I’ve heard of people needing 8 before with this method of analysis and correction but that is less common with this approach.
In the end, after all layers are cleared, the UC spine is set fully free and stabilizes as the ligaments lock down in proper alignment like steel chains. People can then experience additional personal traumas, car accidents, horseback riding accidents, contact sports, etc. and STILL keep their alignment. I have personally seen all of the above, and some after only holding alignment for 2 months. One patient fell off his horse at a rodeo and his horse fell on top of him. The horse then got up but my patient’s leg was stuck in his stirrup and the horse proceeded to drag him—saw the whole thing on video when he came in afterward. Checked—still in alignment. It gets that stable. So, if you are getting adjusted from an UC doc 20+, 30+, 50+ etc. times per year, continually, something is missing.
The ticket is not just knowing when and what to adjust according to each unique patient, but when NOT TO.
If you can manage to maintain the alignment, which isn’t hard now with this readily available, cheap, safe, and innovative ability to analyze alignment through stressed motion testing, then you will provide the opportunity for your CNS to rewire all its communication highways (nerves), regulate all systems, and start the system wide healing process.
Is it over? No. It’s just begun. The body doesn’t heal overnight, just like it didn’t get to the condition it is in overnight. You will, however, heal in lightening speed and the rate and completeness of that depends in part on the rest of the parts of the construction site.
Can you fully build and restore without quality materials and supplies (food)?
>No.
Can you fully build and restore without quality parts and tools (vitamins and minerals)?
>No.
Can you fully build and restore while vandalizers (pathogens, heavy metals, halogens, and toxic chemicals) continue to do damage to parts of what you’re building?
>No.
Can you fully build and restore on top of a dirty site (metabolic waste and toxins)?
>No.
Can you fully build and restore if the blueprints and instructions (DNA) are irreparably altered?
>No.
The body will always rebuild and restore within its physical limits, and if you are fully loaded with quality materials and supplies, parts and tools, infection free, have a clean site, and unscathed DNA, then what’s stopping you from resolution?
What does the healing process look like?
How long does it take?
How often does this work?
I will answer all of these in my upcoming article “The Healing Process: Retracing” and then following it up with:
“Quality Materials and Supplies”
“Parts and Tools”
“Vandalizers”
“Dirty Site-Clean Site”
“Workers on Strike”
“Altered Blueprints”
…and how to identify, address, correct, and resolve any of these issues that may arise from these deficits at the construction site using the secrets they have kept hidden from all of us in plain sight. The information is there. You just had to know what you were looking for before it would ever show up. This requires you to have knowledge of how the human body operates which I am going to give all of you!
I swear, the powers that be in healthcare have told us the opposite is true in almost every single scenario.
As I spell it out in painstaking detail in subsequent articles, you will see what I mean.
As someone who had (key word HAD) severe neurological dysfunction, severe GI dis-ease, parasitic, leaky gut, bloating, cramping, swelling, burning, inability to digest or absorb adequate nutrients, chronic bloody diarrhea, dysbiosis, candida infections, heavy-metal and halogen toxicity, two lumbar herniated discs, asymmetrical (left sided) and atrophied muscle mass, full body weakness, hormone imbalances, cachexia, massive anxiety, and neuropathy in my legs and feet, I still managed to FULLY resolve without the help or treatment of a single traditional healthcare doctor.
And I will share with you my entire experience, what works and what doesn’t, protocols and instructions, with all the research links cited, then all connected together from a 40,000 ft view, and you will have the same ‘ah-ha’ moment I did when you see just how simple, cheap, and easy it is—and then it WORKS. So far… EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even for some of the most deleterious conditions.
You will notice, I didn’t list any “disease names”.
Just signs and symptoms of “dis-ease”.
I don’t “cure disease”—this is NOT what we do.
What we do is we restore the communication, control, and function of the human body, then give it the opportunity by providing it everything it needs, and then let the body come out of dis-ease and heal itself. VOILA!
Self-adapting, self-regulating, self-organizing, self-healing machine.
Once it’s healed, I will then show you how to USE IT in ways you were not aware of.
You are truly a Godsend. I thank God for a brother so blessed.
Readers: I went to see Dr C last week and my 90% of my lower back pain was gone within a few minutes of the adjustment... and he didn't even touch my lower back! (I think the other 10% was due for residual soreness from a decompression treatment I had received from another Dr a few days prior, whom I won't be returning to) Each day since has been better and better. I literally just started laughing once I realized I could lay completely flat on my back without a big cushioned support under my knees. The joy was just not containable. I can get up out of bed in the mornings with ease now, as-if I've been awarded a new back. It's truly incredible. There really are no words to describe, other than the "kink in the water hose" analogy, as it paints the visual so well.
Master reset is the real deal, and yet the name still completely understates what this will enable you body to do thereafter.
We have an amazing Father, I tell ya.
Dr. C......reading all your exposés has flipped on a switch in me. Big time. I am so sorry we live in Netherlands but now I am thinking.....when it comes to regaining your health and ultimately quality of life.....even that should not be an obstacle! Your writings resonate with me so much! ThankYou. Wow. Simply the missing piece of this huge puzzle God gave me. I will mail you.
